About us

Working capital is what we do.

We built GillmanBagley because growing businesses deserve a capital partner who understands their industry, their customers, and how their receivables actually turn into cash.

Our mission

Give every business the capital to keep growing.

Winning a new customer or a bigger contract takes a lot of work, but it's just the beginning. The real obstacle comes after: payroll, materials, and overhead are due now, while customer payment can run 30, 60, or 90 days out.

GillmanBagley exists to close that gap. We underwrite the strength of your receivables and customer relationships, not just your financial history. We enable businesses to staff up, make payroll on time, and take on the next contract with confidence.

Here is how that works in practice: an A/R line of credit for flexible access to cash, invoice factoring to turn specific invoices into cash, and payroll funding for work you have performed but not yet billed. We work with companies across many B2B industries, from staffing and trucking to manufacturing. We are also proud members of the International Factoring Association.

What we stand for

Principles behind every facility we structure.

Specialization

We finance the industries we know. Every underwriting decision draws on real experience with how your business actually gets paid.

Partnership

We work to integrate into how your business operates, alongside your existing lenders and advisors, not around them. We structure capital that fits your business.

Integrity

We explain funding terms, timelines, and costs clearly up front, and we do what we say we will. That's why so much of our business comes from companies we've already funded.

Speed

Growth doesn’t wait for a slow credit committee. You need a lender who moves at the same pace your business does.

The team

The founding partners.

Decades of combined experience financing small and mid-sized businesses, dedicated to structuring capital that actually fits.

Matthew Gillman

Matthew Gillman

Partner

Growing up among entrepreneurs, Matthew has always focused on supporting and advocating for business owners. He co-founded GillmanBagley to be a trusted financing partner that owners can depend on, structuring working capital for companies that traditional banks overlook. Whether it's a distributor managing seasonal swings or a staffing firm scaling into a new contract, his focus is the same: understand the business well enough to structure capital that actually fits it.

Michael Bagley

Michael Bagley

Partner

Michael's core philosophy is simple: it's all about people. As a founding partner, he's committed to dedicated, personal, and consultative relationships that deliver real value to clients. Before co-founding GillmanBagley, he worked directly with small and mid-sized business owners, and learned that the right capital partner does more than write a check. They understand your business, your customers, and your growth plan well enough to structure something that fits. That's the standard he holds the team to on every deal.
