Telecom Contractor Factoring & Financing
Fund installation crews and equipment on contracts that bill after project completion.
Let's fund your telecommunications business.
Two questions to start. No obligation, no credit pull.
What is telecom contractor factoring?
Telecom contractor factoring converts approved milestone and completion invoices into cash while the carrier or prime contractor's payment process runs. It keeps crews, equipment, and subcontractors funded through a long build, and payroll funding can cover work that is done but not yet billable.
The cash flow challenge for telecom contractors and infrastructure companies.
Telecom infrastructure and services companies front labor and equipment costs on installation and build-out projects, then bill on milestones or completion, often with payment 30-60 days behind that.
Telecom build-outs run on a milestone or completion billing structure, which means crew labor and equipment costs flow out continuously while invoicing waits for a defined point in the project to be reached. A large build-out can require staffing up weeks or months before the first milestone is even eligible to be billed, let alone paid.
Subcontractors add another layer of timing pressure: a specialist crew brought in for a piece of the build frequently wants to be paid on their own schedule, which rarely lines up with when the prime contractor collects from the end customer. Once the prime has invoiced the end customer, drawing against that receivable lets it fund its own crews and subcontractors instead of waiting for the customer’s payment.
How receivables financing works for telecom contractors and infrastructure companies.
- Your crews complete a phase of the build or installation, and you document it with completed work orders, site sign-offs, or milestone acceptance.
- You invoice the carrier, prime contractor, or end customer once the milestone or completion is accepted.
- We review the paying company's credit and advance most of the invoice, so crews and equipment stay funded while approval runs.
- Once the customer pays, the balance is released to you, less our fee.
Who pays you, and when.
Telecom contractors are paid by carriers, tower and fiber companies, prime contractors, and enterprise customers. Large carriers and primes are strong credits, but their invoicing runs on structured acceptance: a milestone has to be signed off, documented, and often matched to a purchase order before an invoice is approved.
Subcontractors feel the timing most. A specialist crew on a larger build is paid after the prime has been approved and paid, which stacks one wait on top of another. Your own payroll and equipment costs run the whole time.
Common pressure points.
Crew labor and equipment costs are outbound throughout a build; billing often waits for milestones or completion.
A large build-out contract can require staffing up well ahead of any invoicing.
Subcontractors on a job frequently need paying before the prime contractor is paid.
What the funding pays for.
- Crew payroll, per diem, and travel
- Bucket trucks, lifts, and other equipment rental or maintenance
- Cable, hardware, and materials for each phase
- Permits, insurance, and safety program costs
- Subcontractor crews brought in for a portion of the build
Choosing between factoring, a line of credit, and payroll funding.
Invoice factoring suits milestone billing, where large invoices arrive periodically and you want each one converted to cash instead of waiting on the customer's payment cycle.
An A/R line of credit fits contractors with steady work across several projects, with availability that follows your receivables as projects start and finish.
Payroll funding applies when crews work a long phase that cannot be billed until it is accepted. It advances against work that is earned but not yet invoiced, up to a cap.
What to have ready.
- A current accounts receivable aging report
- Invoices, with the work orders and acceptance documents behind them
- Contracts or purchase orders from the carriers and primes you work for
- A list of paying customers with payment terms
- A summary of crew and equipment costs for active projects
Telecom contractor factoring questions, answered.
Does this work for subcontractors on larger telecom builds, not just primes?
Yes. For a subcontractor, the decision rests on your invoices to the prime and on the prime’s credit and payment history.
Can this fund staffing up before a milestone is billed?
An A/R line of credit lets you draw against receivables you already hold, which can fund staffing ahead of the next milestone. Work that is performed but not yet billed may qualify for payroll funding, up to a cap.
Can I finance an invoice that is still waiting on customer acceptance?
Financing on an invoice typically follows approved, billable work. If the work is performed but the milestone has not been accepted yet, it may qualify for payroll funding as earned but unbilled revenue, up to a cap, subject to verification and the acceptance terms of your contract.
How does retainage or a holdback affect financing?
Retainage is typically released at completion, so it does not follow the normal payment schedule. Raise it early, along with your contract terms, so the facility is built around the portion of each invoice that is payable on time.
Can financing help me staff up before the next project starts?
Financing follows invoices and earned revenue, so it generally begins once work is underway. Many contractors use an A/R line of credit built on their existing receivables to fund hiring ahead of the next project.
How quickly can telecom contractors and infrastructure companies get funded?
A facility can often be set up in days, and approved milestone invoices can then be funded as fast as the same day.
